When the soul leaves the body during the night sleep it goes up and follows a process of evaluating its actions. The soul receives life energy according to the positive actions it will do in the future.
The Zohar in these paragraphs reveals to us the secrets of the final evaluation before the resurrection.
The angel Dooma, דומה, is the one who deals with the process of judgment done on the dead in their graves. He prepares them to the Resurrection. Dooma judges the evil doers in a process called ‘hell’.
Rabbi Ashlag reveals that there are two types of judgment. One is from the aspect of the left column. It is the judgment that the wicked people receive and they don’t merit coming back to life at the time of the Resurrection.
The second type of judgment comes from the central column and it destroys the existence of the body through a process of decay. That brings cleansing to the vessel and gives it the ability to stand among the living at the Resurrection.
The wicked are those who lived and were driven by the desire for the self-alone. They were connected to the Left Column and for that they receive the final judgment of the Left Column. The good and righteous people make unification of the Right and Left Columns to build vessels from the Central Column. The Light that they revealed saves them and preserves their vessels for the Resurrection. The judgment of the Central Column their bodies go through is painful but it cleanses them.
“יִמָּחוּ, מִסֵּפֶר חַיִּים; וְעִם צַדִּיקִים, אַל-יִכָּתֵבוּ.”
“Erase their names from the Book of Life; don’t let them be counted among the righteous.”
The angel Domma keeps accounting in the book of life and erases the names of the wicked from it. When the time comes he transfers the book to the angel Metatron that makes the activation of the Resurrection process by opening the upper gates, that is the secret of YHV, יהו. It is concealed in the introduction to the Tikunei Zohar in the part known as ‘Elijah Opened’, ‘פתח אליהו’, ‘פתח-אל-יהו’.
